Tottenham player can finally join national team squad – Flying out tonight

Despite leaving London at the start of the week to join Argentina’s squad for the international break, Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero was still to meet his teammates.

Due to delays, the player was unable to sort out his visa in England to enter the United States. So he went to his home country, and for the past four days he continued working on those bureaucracies.

That issue stopped Romero from playing against Honduras, as the game is taking place tonight. However, according to Olé, the Tottenham defender is about to join Argentina’s squad.

The outlet writes that after four days in Buenos Aires, the player finally got his visa and is travelling to the United States on Friday evening. He’s now set to be available to play against Jamaica.

Olé points out that Romero has ‘many chances’ of being a starter at the World Cup his year, even though he certainly needs to show manager Lionel Scaloni he’s ready for it.

Playing for Tottenham this season, Romero only has six appearances, having struggled with abductor problems.
