The Chase viewers all have the same complaint after contestant makes huge jackpot blunder

THE Chase viewers were left fuming after a contestant made a huge blunder – causing a big dent in the total jackpot.

Monday evening’s episode of the ITV quiz show saw four contestants take on one of the country’s finest brains – and one of them soon stole the show, but for all the wrong reasons.

Les, a retired Church of England minister, took on Paul Sinha in the hope of bagging himself some winnings to go towards a holiday in Hawaii.

After a disappointing attempt in the cash builder, Les went against the advice of his teammates Lynette and Jasha.

The 69-year-old selected the lowest offer of -£3,000 to return to his teammates in a rare move on the show.

After answering numerous questions correctly, Les’ decision slashed the jackpot from £15,000 to £12,000 – and it didn’t go down well with his counterparts.

“He’d have got back if he’d just taken the middle offer,” Chaser Paul remarked.

“He clearly came in with a plan that he was going to take the minus offer no matter what and that’s not gameplay.”

After his walk of shame, Les apologised to his teammates after losing them a firth of the total prize money – but viewers weren’t buying it.

Alongside an array of angry-faced emojis, one person penned: “Why, as a human being, are you taking the minus offer on The Chase?”

Echoing their comments, someone else said: “Look how disappointed the other two players are that Les got through. Never ever take the minus offer.”

While a third added: “Cannot stand players that take the minus offer on The Chase. What a coward.”

Despite taking the minus offer, Les redeemed himself slightly in the next round by answering a handful of questions.

But it was Jasha who soared in front answering the majority of the 19 questions correctly in the two-minute time slot.

And Paul was unable to secure enough correct answers, with the three remaining contestants bagging a cool £12,000 between them.

“I still think you’re a coward Les, but well played,” Paul joked as the three contestants secured the jackpot.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
