For her first-ever collab with the brand, SZA has created two limited-edition designs featuring the Crocs Classic Clog and Crocs Classic Slide silhouettes. The first one, retailing for $70, has “a warm woodgrain pattern and colorful custom Jibbitz™ charms” that match the singer’s personality as well as the “totems that keep her grounded, calm, and collected.” SZA’s Crocs Classic Slide, on the other hand, retail for $40 and feature “inspiring custom Jibbitz™ charms to find your personal comfort and stay Zen—then pass the positivity on.”
Aside from introducing two shoes that you’d certainly want to add to your wardrobe, the collab also has a charitable angle as profits will go towards supporting Mental Health Awareness Month. Crocs and SZA have tapped a number of public figures advocating for mental health, self-care, and Black communities. Officially dubbed as “SZA’s superheroes,” these include Sage Adams, Yaris Sanchez, and Donté Colley.
As noted in a press release, Crocs will be making donations to the organizations of the superheroes’ choosing, including the Sad Girls Club and the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation. The brand is also making a donation to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
To accompany the launch of the shoes, Crocs tapped Memphis-based illustrator Mia Saine to bring to life one-of-a-kind digital artwork that supports the campaign. The brand also made a donation to Saine’s charity of choice, My Sista’s House, which advocates for the LGBTQ+ community in Memphis.
SZA’s Crocs collab officially launched on May 2 and will operate on a raffle basis. Customers can now enter a draw at www.crocs.com to get the chance to buy a pair of the limited-edition shoes. The draw will be open until May 6, 2022, at 12pm ET. If you are selected, you’ll be notified via email within 12 hours so keep your notifications on. Quantities are limited to one pair per customer.
