We always knew chocolate and strawberry was a winning combo.

For those that aren’t naturally blessed with pretty pink-tinted strands, the trend for painting brunette hair color with a fruity infusion has gone stratospheric recently, after a number of celebs, including Zendaya, Barbie Ferreira and Kendall Jenner, all swapped their dark brown hair for a copper update.

For brunettes looking to spice up their hair color while staying within their natural shade palette, it’s a perfect choice. In fact, requests for various shades for red including bright red, copper, and, increasingly, strawberry brunette have heightened over the last couple of years. And brands are catering to the shade more than ever before with at-home glosses from the likes of Josh Wood and Moroccanoil to enhance the hair color, whether you’re a natural redhead or faux.

And that includes keeping the base brunette and layering a strawberry shade infusion over the top.
